How to Make Hormozi-Style Captions

Big, heavy, few words at a time, with the key word hit in a second color. Here is why the look works and how to make it without keyframing a single word.

Hormozi-style captions are huge, heavy, all-caps words shown one to three at a time, with the most important word hit in a contrasting color as it is spoken. The style is named after the business creator Alex Hormozi, whose short clips made it popular, and it works because it turns speech into something you can read at a glance, even with the sound off.

The four rules behind the look

  1. Very few words. One to three words per caption. The text can then be very large, and each new caption lands on the beat of the speech.
  2. Heavy capitals. A black-weight sans-serif in uppercase, usually white with a dark outline or shadow so it reads on any background.
  3. One hit word. The spoken word, or the key word, switches to a second color (gold and yellow are common) and often scales up for an instant.
  4. Timed to the word. The highlight has to land exactly as the word is said. A few frames early or late and the effect feels off.

Why it is slow to do by hand

Rule 4 is the expensive one. In a normal editor you place and time every word yourself: a one-minute clip can mean well over a hundred small edits. That is why word-level transcription matters more than the font.

Making them in Captixa

  1. Load your clip and click Transcribe. Every word gets its own start and end time.
  2. Open Templates and choose Hormozi Style (Creator category): heavy capitals with a gold impact word. For a bouncier version, try Hormozi Spring (Kinetic), where each word snaps in oversized and settles.
  3. In Layout, set 1 to 3 words per caption.
  4. Fix any misheard word by double-clicking it, check the safe zone for your platform, and export.

Common mistakes

  • Too many words. Five or six words at this size fill the screen and slow the viewer down.
  • Every word highlighted. If everything is gold, nothing stands out. Let the color follow the spoken word.
  • Captions under the buttons. Big captions low in the frame often sit under the app's like and comment buttons. Use a safe-zone overlay before you export.

The look is simple; the timing is the work. Once every word is timed for you, a Hormozi-style caption is one click and a quick proofread.

What font do Hormozi-style captions use?

A very heavy sans-serif in capitals. Montserrat Black and similar geometric fonts are the usual choice; what matters most is the weight and the size, not the exact typeface.

How many words should be on screen?

One to three. Fewer words per caption means bigger text and a faster rhythm, which is the point of the style.

Is the Hormozi Style preset endorsed by Alex Hormozi?

No. Preset names describe a caption style. Captixa is not affiliated with or endorsed by the creators named in them.
